Hello,
My Name is Ute, I live in Germany near Hannover, and I´m new at DeviantArt.
I´m a freelance children´s book illustrator, working for several german publishers.
Apart from that, I love to draw and paint in different techniques and styles, even digital painting, still experimenting to find my way...
Years ago, I developed an interest for dragons and other mythical creatures, wich soon became my favourite subject.
Though my art shows fantastic creatures, and is certainly inspired by fantasy art, I don´t consider it to be typical fantasy art.
Some pictures are, but mainly I portray my dragons, centaurs and unicorns as if there were real, so it´s more like a cross between fantasy and classic animal painting.
Meanwhile, my "Fabeltiere" ( the german word for mythical creatures) have become a real passion to me.
So far however, I kept this passion secret, my beasts were sleeping deeply in my studio for a long time, and only very close friends knew of their existence... who convinced me finally to release them into the public ;-)

Hello Deviants,
It´s a month I´m a Deviant now, and I started to submit some examples of my artwork only 9 days ago.
I´m more of the shy type, often in doubt about what I´m doing, so I hesitated pretty long to present my work to the public.
I must say, I´m really surprised in a most positive way: NEVER did I expect such a nice feedback right at the beginning!
I´m so excited about it, your warm welcome and friendly words really boost my confidence, and your feedback encourages me to create and submit more art!
